So many cool AI apps, and so many opportunities to click on a scam.

Open AI created super helpful tool - Chat GPT, that changed the lifes (ours too) for many digital roles. So, people got very excited with their announcement that they created new much more powerful AI called Sora.

However, the excitement + the oportunity to test it before anyone else led so many good guys fall into the scam of the bad guys.

"I clicked on an ad and I got Trojan virus"

If this is you, you probably have downloaded Sora by Open AI on your computer. But that actually is not Sora.

There's a false page created that is a 100% replica of the real Sora website. How people come to this website?

There have pushed nearly a hundred ads that target people that were searching or has been using Chat GPT and they tell you to download it for best experience. People that download it, if they are on Windows, they will receive a Trojan automatically when they open the zip. Those on Mac, just get their passwords revealed which is also a big thread.

How to be safe from this scam?

Very easy. Don't fall for anything that is a Sponsored post telling you that Sora is available for a try. If you want to try it, you will have to wait for a public announcement of the Open AI team.

Also, Sora is currently available just for expert testers.

What to do next if you already clicked?

If you clicked, you will isntantly receive a threathing message from the hackers (scammers) saying that they withhold you information. Don't panic.

  • First install antivirus and Malwarebytes to see what is infected.
  • Completely delete the file you downloaded and turn off all the devices that are in the same Wi-fi and LAN network.
  • Check if there's a duplicate app (especially 7zip or winrar) on your device
  • Change all passwords that were stored or were available on the infected device
  • If you still don't feel safe, on Windows you can make a system restore (before it was ever installed)
  • Or if you don't ha files that are important, just format it.
  • For Mac users, jsut change the passwords.

Hope we helped!
